Golden Ada

The guitar players Reentko Dirks and Erkin Cavus return to Istanbul with "Golden Ada". Following their internationally acclaimed albums Istanbul 1900 and Ütopya, Reentko Dirks and Erkin Cavuş return once again to the metropolis on the Bosporus. The EP Shades of Istanbul – Anatolia is a sonic cartography in which places, memories, and colors intertwine to form a unified experience. At its heart lies a poetic idea: Istanbul’s places, squares, and landmarks are not merely described, but translated into colors. Each composition is dedicated to a particular mood, shaped by the time of day, the atmosphere, and the inner sound of a place. Every location carries its own vibration, its own soul, and its own color. Here, these colors become music. "Golden Ada" is an instrumental memory of the island world off the coast of Istanbul. Between sea, light, and slow movement, the image emerges of a place that, in retrospect, has transformed into warm shades of gold. The bustle of the city lies in the distance. Instead, the atmosphere is shaped by stillness, openness, and the steady shimmer of the water. The track follows this mood: restrained, sustained, and open. Less a narrative than the capturing of a moment, like the memory of a late afternoon on Ada, long past and yet still resonating.
