Johannes Motschmann, Chris Liebing

Lifestream

"How do things come to life? How does meaning develop?" German composer, electronic producer and classically trained pianist Johannes Motschmann posed these questions in his album Lifestream, released in 2019. He chose the natural cycle of life from birth to death as the narrative arc. With his detailed and unique compositional style, Motschmann managed to set these themes to music in a unique way and bring them to life. One year later, the German musician is now inviting friends to continue his work and expand Lifestream with a remix EP. German Berghain veteran Chris Liebing has remixed the title track from Johannes Motschmann's album ‘Lifestream’ and elevated the original into his own clubby spheres. Liebing, who is a driving force in the German electronic music world with his consistently innovative approach, took the track into a deep and dark world of his own. Chris Liebing is a DJ, producer, radio presenter and the driving force behind the CLR and Spinclub Recordings labels. His sound has continuously evolved throughout his DJ career, while always remaining true to his techno roots. Although he has already established himself as one of the big names in the field with his contributions, Liebing continues to innovate in the DJ booth, with a setup more suited to a teenage computer game obsessive, as well as consistently releasing new material. He's known for playing hard, bouncy techno inspired by philosophy; always deep tracks that range from menacing apocalyptic landscapes filled with a sense of dread to more optimistic emotional meditations.
