Organs for Breakfast

"Organs for Breakfast" is a personal exploration of how deeply we rely on our bodies—not just to survive, but to carry the traces of everything we live through. Our cells hold memory: joy, love, loss, and the slow, patient work of healing. Musically, "Organs for Breakfast" blends the softness of my plucked 5-string violin with minimalistic string arrangements that move between steady organic grooves, field recordings shaped into rhythmic patterns, and simple harmonic structures, some inspired by Frederic Chopin and DJ Boring. At its core is the sound of an old Yamaha organ—chosen to symbolize our own organs: a steady hum beneath the vibrant complexity of life. This EP was inspired by the ways love moves through us—how it shapes us, how we let it go, and how we find ourselves again in its absence. In recent years, I’ve experienced both deep connection and quiet partings. Yet what remains is gratitude: for moments of pure happiness and deep learning, for the resilience of the body, and for the quiet wonder of simply continuing—even after illness, heartbreak or trauma. These songs are rooted in kindness. They hold space for vulnerability, for the hope that we can love without conditions, and for the courage it takes to express what we need in order to feel safe and whole.

Alex Stolze

The Jewish-German violinist and producer Alex Stolze has earned a strong reputation for his unique music. He switches seamlessly between modern classical instrumentation and sensitive electronica and manages to create a previously unseen sound based on his 5-string violin. Middle Eastern scales create a beguiling soundscape, complex polyrhythms and unusual time signatures become addictive, danceable grooves and rousing songs. Alex Stolze's work with the electronic trio Bodi Bill, the avant-garde band Dictaphone and his work as founder and head of Nonostar Records, on which Anne Müller, Ben Osborn, Qrauer and Field Kit have also already released, also repeatedly attracts international attention.
